My Wifes first buck
She has been hunting alot this season but mostly just afternoon till dark. Yesterday morning she put about 6 layers of clothes on and took the 243. Said she froze and only saw a fawn. So she went and ran some errands. By the time she got home and sat down it was 4:00. She had bought me a mushy card telling me how much she loved me and then I asked if she wanted to go sit in her blind together until dark. I told her just grab a coat and some orange and we would go like we were.
4:15 were sitting together just enjoying being together and we heard a crash in the hollar to our right so I told her to grab the gun just in case. After a couple minutes a fawn came into view from our right. I ask her if it had buttons and as she is looking I noticed a deer to the left of the first one and had her look at it and as she was saying doe I saw the buck. I said buck she said no its a doe I told her the buck is coming from the right. She got excited and never looked up but just started trying to find him in the scope. It was comical watching her move the gun around trying to find him he is 70yds out broadside as she found him but walking to the doe in the wood line she started saying OMG. Just before he got to the doe he stopped My heart was pounding I told her you have to shoot now. She pulled the trigger and he went down and never twitched. She put it thru the shoulder but the bullet fragmented and took lungs, spine and what was left was against the opposite shoulder but did not pass thru. She jumped up did the happy dance and we high 5'd and kissed. We walked to her deer to find a Nice 10pt laying there as her first buck. After checking him out and doing the happy dance again she says "Can I have him mounted?" I said yes and she grabbed her phone to call everyone but was shaking so bad she couldn't dial LOL
I made her do the gutting until she got to the diaphragm and I took over. Caping it out and not being able to cut the chest open I didn't want her to try cutting blindly, so I finished.
Her getting bloody
And of course I had to paint her for the hunt lol

I don't harvest deer I kill them. You harvest corn. Gutting a deer is how you clean it. like shucking corn. If it offends someone they should just go pick corn. Now if you are worried about some anti hunter guess what tell them to get off the site lolhikerman wrote:Congratulation on your deer!
But I don't think those photos are appropriate for this family forum.
Maybe some of the more experienced members of this forum can set some
examples of showing some respect for the animals we harvest.
