Ever Forget Something...
I was thinking back to my gun hunting days and remembered a time when I left my gun at the property. I lived in Toronto and the property was in Lindsay, Ontario, about 1 hour 15 minute drive.
I left my shotgun encased leaning up against the fence by the road and went home only to discover I had to drive back up in hopes that it would still be there. Upon returning, thankfully, it was still there and clearly visible from the road.

My friend Felix drove out to his hunting spot one time, hunted for two three hours and when he came back could'nt figure out why his car was still running. It's bad when you don't shut the car off and take the keys with you, but on the bright side the car was nice and warm when he came back.

Re: Ever Forget Something...
Went hunting yesterday. Knew I was going to be out there all day, but still forgot to take anything to read. Two or three times, I kept reminding myself Friday night when I was getting stuff ready, that I needed to pack a couple of magazines. Didn't seem to help.....
The one thing that I forgot that I really miss was a set of rattling antlers. My uncle and I were on a quota hunt down at Land Between the Lakes here in KY quite a few years ago. We packed everything up that night and came on back. Found out I left my antlers down there when we were back up here........... about 300 miles and 4 hours later.

I forgot my crossbow once at a farm I was hunting at. Luckily a good friend of ours lives there and she phoned to let me know. I left it leaning against a post right next to where we often park.

Lost count of how many times I've returned home to get my cell phone.

Just remembered another one. Drive out to the hunting area, parked, hiked in, uncased the ExoMax crossbow, no rope cocker!
I could not cock that bow for the life of me. Packed up, hiked back out and drove back home for the rope cocker. Now I keep it in the bow case.

Re: Ever Forget Something...
years ago I started keeping all my "accessories" in a small bag so I wouldnt forget anything next time I hunted. After awhile, I had to get a bigger bag. Soon after, I had to get an even bigger bag. Now my bag to too big for me to carry so I end up just taking a few things in a smaller bag again. You guessed it, I forgot something I needed. Go figure

I left my cell phone in the woods a couple of years ago. I had called my Grandfather to come pick up me and my deer. Traced and retraced my every step from the field to the barn. Took everything out of the truck. Nothing. As far as I know, it's still out there, probably in a raven's nest.

A friend's son left his BPS shotgun on the roof of the car as he left a hunting spot. It fell off and someone found it before he returned. But the person who found it recognized Bill's gun and returned it. This, in a parking space of a public hunting spot!
