Finished off mounting the rack from my buck yesterday. Hung it over my reading chair and was surprised to see the cool effect from the floor lamp. I think I'll leave it there.
The most important blood trail leads to the Cross...
I'm surprised you went that route for that buck. He was a real brute.
Thought about getting him mounted but it's absolutely not in the budget these days. Also, we have a rather small house and a full head mount would be a little imposing in any of our rooms.

I know what you mean times are tough everywhere. I guess you will always remember the way he looked before you pulled that trigger. And that is priceless!!
Just for the record, I told Tim that if he wanted to get a mount done we'd put it on credit. It's probably the biggest deer either of us will ever bring home and a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get it mounted.... but he insisted that this mount is good enough. (I think he'd rather spend the money on a new barrel for his BPS instead.
Having seen it, I have to say that it looks pretty good in our living room. I really like it!
We looked around on-line and in stores for various antler kits, but this one stood out.
It's also available at Bass Pro (US) but cheaper from King Dimensions directly. Very easy to do! took just a few minutes once the skull was cut down enough. The cap is almost like a silicone - not like some of the cheap plasticy ones. Easy to work with. Quality wood too - not particle board like so many of them. We're pleased with the product and with the service we received dealing directly with the company.

Looks great! The next one I hope to some day get a chance to do is the Euopean mount and then to have it bronze dipped. Full head mounts do take up alot of room.
That looks very good on yer wall, i haven't had a Buck mounted in yrs. Will have to be over 150 score as i have the 148 10 Pt. Most of mine i just cut out & salt dry. Pick them up every now & again & relive the hunt the excitement! Great memorys
