Man with crossbow arrested near G20 site
"Officers found [a crossbow,] three arrows, containers with gas, a slingshot, chainsaw, axes and other items in the vehicle."
Goodness gracious! I think they arrested Boo!
Remind me not to drive through Toronto on my way north to the cottage! You'd probably find all those things in my truck!

Re: Man with crossbow arrested near G20 site
In my car right now I have 2 bows wqith a couple dozen arrows, a couple of airguns (bb-pellet), a slingshot, a toolbox with sharp things including a small axe, tire iron is in there, probably 6-7 assorted knives and multitools. Plus beer. If I drove through downtown Toronto today I'd probably get arrested too, but I'm just going to an archery tournament, then up to my cottage for a few days.A 53-year-old Toronto man is under arrest after a G20 bike patrol found a cache of weapons, including a crossbow, in a car that was pulled over near the secure zone of this weekend's summit. Officers found three arrows, containers of gas, a slingshot, chainsaw, fire axe, saws, a tire iron and other items in the vehicle.
At least it wasn't an Excalbur .

I have a feeling things aren't going to go very smoothly in Toronto the next few days!
But nothing will surprise me. Well ,almost nothing.

Having the necessary items to do anything doesn't mean you plan on doing it.
I am reminded of the once popular joke to that effect:
A couple went on vacation to a fishing resort up north. The husband liked to fish at the crack of dawn. The wife liked to read.
One morning the husband returned after several hours of fishing and decided to take a short nap. Although she wasn't familiar with the lake, the wife decided to take the boat out. She rowed out a short distance, anchored, and returned to reading her book.
Along came the Conservation Officer in his boat. He pulled up alongside her and said, "Good morning, Ma'am. What are you doing?"
"Reading my book," she replies, as she thinks to herself, "Isn't it obvious?"
"Well, you're in a restricted fishing area," he informed her.
"But officer, I'm not fishing. Can't you see that?"
"Yes, ma'am, but you have all the equipment. I'll have to write you a ticket."
"If you do that, I'll have to charge you with rape," snapped the irate woman.
"But, I haven't even touched you," groused the game warden.
"Yes, that's true," she replied, "but you do have all the equipment."

A tire iron! That proves the guy was obviously a terrorist!
Seriously, is any of that stuff illegal in Canada? What is he going to be charged with? I hate stories like this.

I'm shocked! I always thought World Summits were "compound and traditional bow only" seasons! Who let that evil crossbow guy in there?"Officers found [a crossbow,] three arrows, containers with gas, a slingshot, chainsaw, axes and other items in the vehicle."

Re: Man with crossbow arrested near G20 site
They coralled the car with bikes!!! That should stop them from driving out.
You can take the man out of the woods but you can't take the woods out of the man.
