QueenBee v. Pink Vixen

Post by ninepointer »

Some of you have already read about QueenBee's misadventure. Its my fault really  . Queenbee was doing just fine shooting off-hand. We'd been through the safety drill weeks ago and, with several shooting sessions under her belt, she was doing great. Then I suggested she hunker down and try shooting from a rest....

Now, after 12 years of marriage I thought I knew everything about this woman. But right after her crossbow went "twang", the words that came out of her mouth were like nothing I'd ever heard before    !!! Nearby birds dropped dead from the trees and I'm certain that for miles around, mothers rushed their children indoors. When she was finally able to speak in words possessing more than four letters, Queen Bee said, and I quote,"It hurt MORE than child birth!".

I'm supposed to be her mentor. I should have been paying more attention, but I wasn't . The bandage hides an amazing array of colours!

OW OW OW OW OW!!!!!!!!! She has sympathy! It really really hurts.

Nice of you to shoulder the blame! :D

I whacked my pointer finger and middle finger once while bench resting, they were both bent so far toward my little finger that I thought they might be broken - it took a week for them to straighten out again, and much longer for the bruises to disappear.

I hope QueenBee heals quickly and is back shooting the pink Vixen again in no time!

Wow! That s****. The second day after i bought my Excalibur i saw a young boy cut the top of his thumb off with a tenpoint crossbow right beside me. He also screamed!!!!! His dad stood right beside him and watched him pull the trigger.

You were distracted, right ninepointer? We understand. Those pink vixens are hot!

Hope you heal quickly, QueenBee, and get right back on that shooting bench!

i hold the bottom part of the butt with my left hand when i shoot off a sand bag on the bench with my left elbow on the table....i notice i get flyers when i hold my bow down on a bench instead of letting it sit there on the sand bag....i do the same when i shoot my flintlocks off a sand bag too....if it is anything like wacking your thumb or finger with a hammer, no thanks i never want to feel that ever again....being a carpenter my left hand hate my right hand with a passion  .........bob

Bob . . .please explain yourself . . ..

bstout . . .do you hold the stock when hunting or just let it rest in your hand. Should the stock be grasped or craddled? I think I hold on loosely, but, I don't think about it. I suppose as long as it's consistant with how we zero the scope in, then it should be fine either method, correct?

Unfortunately there are a lot of folks using this as a reason for not buying excaliburs. I try to stay on top of what is happening here in NC with the new crossbow law and evidently a lot of crossbow manufacturers have some type of safety design to prevent this from happening and they are getting quite a bit of attention. I just thought that I would pass along this observation. Now for the good news, I went to a local rather large outdoor store here in New Bern NC today. They were busy setting up an Excalibur display. They have a lot of Excaliburs and accessories in stock and are expecting more crossbows in a few days. I really think that Excaliburs crossbows are going to be a big success here in NC :D .
God Bless !!!!!!!!!

So, as you folks know, I was feeling kinda bad that QueenBee got her thumb string-whacked by her Vixen while I was supposed to be teaching her.

Well, later that same week I was in the backyard fixing a dog house and somehow my thumb got where it wasn't supposed to be and WHACK!, this was the result:
Image
QueenBee was standing right beside me when it happened and through my pain and my howls, I swear I think I heard her giggle!!!!!

Two days later and my thumb still throbs so much that I can't sleep :(. Karma is a B!TCH!!! :x
