armadillo on a stick!
I made it to the woods after work yesterday. Walking in I found an armadillo scurrying by. I didn't want to shoot him with one of my new Rage heads but swapped out to an arrow in my quiver with a G5 on it. Made the 20 yard shot perfect with a definite loud pop with the hit. The armadillos are definitely an invasive species around here and are getting more and more.
I didn't see anything while sitting but got up near dark and started walking a field. Walked right up on a decent buck. The field was lined with round bails and put one between me and the buck. Started working towards him and didn't see the 3 does to his right. One of the does busted me and started the blowing show. I really need to get a range finder! Just way too difficult to judge distances in an open field without one. I know they were in range but didn't want to guess the distance before they all ran off. I had fun with it though and now know where to sit next time.

Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. Gen 27:3-4

Don't need a pass through . . .stopped dead in his tracks.

Re: armadillo on a stick!
The proper way to eat a 'dillo is to turn it upside down and lay it on a hot bed of mesquite coals. Leave it there for about 45 minutes. Then moving the singed belly hair away very carefully, cut a tiny slit in the stomach area. Insert a long straw such as those from Sonic Drive-Ins and bon appetitSPITFIRE wrote:Do you BBQ those or deep fry them????????

If you ever saw one up close I seriously doubt you would want to eat it!bugs wrote:Can you eat armadillo? Just wondering because I have never really heard anything other than their existance.
Just out of the picture is the base of a large oak. The arrow burried into the edge of a root at the base of the tree.Dereck wrote:Didn't even passthru better check your bow out

Cool!
The fear and dread of you will fall upon all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air, upon every creature that moves along the ground, and upon all the fish of the sea, they are given into your hands. Gen 9:2

I never would have guessed that an animal with an armour shell is a carrier of leprosy
