What is the best combo arrow and broadhead for whitetail and for wild hog? Thanks for all your advice.

To be honest, only lots of experimenting with different broadheads of different weights, different arrows and fletchings will tell you what the best combination is for your bow.

You see, what one crossbow owner finds works very well for his bow, may not work well with yours. I can't explain it, it just happens.

For example, many people will tell you how their Slick Trick BH's hit the same point of impact as their field tips. Not in my Axiom they don't! There's a 6 inch difference between impact points.

That's just one of many examples.

Now, having said that, I'm betting that the Firebolt carbon arrows that came with your Phoenix (if you bought it new), along with Excalibur Bolt Cutter broadheads would work very well out of your Phoenix and do equally well at putting down either Whitetails or hogs. But then again, you'll need to experiment to find out if this is true or not!

Good luck and have fun shooting your Phoenix!
Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. Gen 27:3-4

Like OKbowhunter said there are no guarantees with bows and arrows. I like the way Carbon Express Maxima Hunters fly with 125 gr G5 strikers on all of my bows.

Hey there Havok,

I have the same bow as you and I use 150 gr. Boltcutters with the Firebolt arrows. It's simple, recommended and the Boltcutters flight is comparable to 150 gr. fieldpoints.

GT Lazar II with 110 gr brass insert, 2" Blazers and alum nocks, tipped with 100 gr Slick Trick mags: 405 gr total wt, +18% FOC. Does 290 fps with my 32 strand Flemish Sweeeet!.

Incurable tinkerer.
