It wasn't long before the old dogs were real close, close enough that we should have already seen the buck. About that time, I heard something to my right and caught a glimpse of the buck. If continued on his present route, he would be right on top of us within seconds. I told Tyler to get ready. All of a sudden the big 6 pointer was running right at us, he would pass on Tyler's side. "Get em' get em'" I whispered to Tyler. One shot from his Franchi 12 ga. with 00 buckshot put the buck down at only 15 yards.
You talking about excited???? Tyler has killed a deer or two in front of the hounds but not the way that this hunt played out. There's something about hearing the hounds coming right to and you "know" that they are running a buck that will put a man's adrenaline in overdrive

Tyler and I have had nothing but awesome hunts from day one and this is just another hunt that will go down in the books as one to remember. It was special to me if you know what I mean.
Oh, almost forgot, late in the afternoon, the dogs jumped a bunch of does and one came a little to close to my Winchester SuperX3

My only regret is that I left the camera at home so we had to clean them at the club while we had plenty of help. Sorry, no pics this time
