Boo, where did you find that slab of wood? I've never seen one come from a gunstock supplier that was rectangular like that. Do you know where the wood originally grew? Gary

I supplied the blank and I got it from ebay no less.

Sorry it took so long. Did I mention that I am slow. Here are some pics. the jig in the rail is just a piece of wood cut close to the width of the finished rail with sandpaper attached. Just slide back and forth and wear yourself out. I mean sand it to width. Next step is locating the trigger holes an the thumbhole.Image

Well, I drilled out the holes for the trigger and thumbhole with my forsthner bits. Next bandsaw off the excess wood and mark centers for reference.

I cut off all the excess and drill small but deep holes in the center of the stock every 6" or so. Gives me a reference for keeping everything straight. The tool with the mean abrasive teeth is my eliminater. Cuts like butter. Image

Came down with a Cold and had to shut down operations until I get rid of this hacking cough. Just wears me out. Aging :(
