Rage 2 or 3 ???

Post by jackleg »

Really starting to like what I have been hearing about these B/H's. Went on the website today and seen a twin blade crossbow B/H. Any comment's? Stories? Don't know what I should get.

I'm using the regular 2 blade Rage and really like them alot.
They fly true and have never had one not pass completely through a deer.
I've had huge entry/exit holes with these broad heads.....like throwing an axe through an animal!!
They seem to be very durable but the tip and blades are easily changed when need be.

I like the 3 blade. 8 deer so far with the Equinox and the Rage 3. 7 dropped under 50 yards. Most dropped under 20 yards. I bent a few blades and just replaced them. Also, I have been able to resharpen them with my Lansky.

Seven deer in 3 yrs. with the 2 blade rage and Phoenix cross bow. Average range was 18-20 yards and 1 at 38 yards all complete pass throughs and large exit holes. Sure makes for short easy recoveries . First time I used a rage 2 blade I was so impressed I bought 3 packs of heads and 3 packs of replacement Blades.
When you find some thing this good why change.
isn't life great and so is my wife. She lets me go hunting to

You will need a quiver that hold the arrow shaft in 2 places, like the Excalibur quiver does.
You can't use a quiver that holds the arrow tip and one place on the shaft.
Check the broadheads after removing them from the quiver to ensure the blades are still held in place by the o-ring.
The blades can come loose fron the o-rings if they get bumped.
A dental elastic around the front portion of the blades will eliminate this and will not affect arrow flight.

I use the 3 blade, and like them alot

The locking ring could be better, but as long as you remember
to check they are locked they are good.

I use GP mount and if I hit it putting the arrow on the rail the blades will release
it is a bit of a pain , but still feel the BH's are worth it.

The 2 blade seems to be quite popular but any complaints centered around the blades coming loose. I tried them for a couple of hunts but every time I pulled them out of the quiver the blade started to disengage the o ring so I tossed them. Check out what one guy is doing. http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=1433401

I started using dental elastics this year. Most guys who hunt spot and stalk style using the Rage will use the same elastic in case a branch catches a blade and possibly opens unnoticed.

If you look at the new Crossbow Rage and their 2011 line-up you will notice they changed the blade lock pocket where the blade intersects with the o-ring to improve blade to o-ring seating.
