Soft Case Opinions?

Post by houser52 »

I've been considering getting a soft case for my Vortex. It will be used for storage when I'm not hunting or shooting and maybe an occasional hunt where I have to drive a short distance. I don't need a hard case.

I have looked at the following cases online and I'm sure there are others.
Excalibur soft case
30 ' 06 Deluxe Form Fit Case or
Neet XC 103

Which soft case to you like and recommend?

Dude I have the Excalibur soft/kinda rigid case, and it is great. Plenty of room, and lots of space for extras. I recommend it.

The Excalibur T-form case is very nice and much easier to get bow in and out of than the big triangular shaped cases that they make. With the other style case(the big triangle ones),by the time you have gotten your bow back in it while you are out in the field, you have grass, twigs and all kinds of stuff with it.The T-form opens on top so you can just put your bow in it,zip it up and you are ready to go.Hope that this helps.

I have a excalibur softcase that I may consider selling. Great case but I think a hard case might fit my needs better. Send me a PM if interested.

Please tell me that you don't have to remove the foot stirrup to get it into the T-form semi-soft case. I'm thinking of getting one also.

Hey Folks,
Will an Excalibur crossbow with a munch mount or a groundpounder mount fit in Plano Manta 1133 crossbow case. I was talking to a person who had an Excalibur crossbow and the Plano Manta 1133 crossbow case but that person did not have a munch mount or a groundpounder mount but with the measurements he said it would fit in the Plano Manta 1133 crossbow case. Can anyone verify that an Excalibur crossbow will fit with a munch mount or a groundpounder mount?
Thanks,
Raymond

I have both Excal cases and I much prefer the T shaped padded case. Easier to get the bow in and out of and room in it for some extras also. I've thought about the Plano manta but not sure if I want something so bulky?? Its a pretty sweet case though and the price isn't too bad.

Thanks for all of your information.
I found an Excalibur padded T-case #6008 for a pretty good price and ordered it.
It was kind of a tough decision. The Neet, 30'06 and Excalibur all looked good. The Neet and 30'06 were cheaper but the Excalibur looked like it would fit the best and didn't look as bulky. It has pockets too which will come in handy.
I'd still like to hear opinions from you all that have the Excal T-case.

I have the Excalibur Deluxe case and it is a nice case with a great deal of storage space. Does a good job of protecting my crossbow but I wouldn't throw it around or pack items on top of it. I can see myself purchasing a Plano Manta crossbow case at some point in time when I can afford to buy one, especially for travelling back to my hunting location in the mountains when I have to pack everything I need in a trailer to haul it to the camp. But for now I do not need one because I am not well enough to go back into the mountains.
