Factory Vortex string life

Bought a new Vortex with the lite package 2 weeks ago and shot about 400-450 carbon fiber target tip bolts since then.
Just shooting targets preparing for the season here in Fla.
Now my server looks frayed and one strand has come loose.I have retired the string since it looks too far gone to me.Is this about normal?
I want to buy another factory string then go to something else later.

That many shots is pretty good. You should learn how to reserve your strings.

The server was slightly frayed then the main string had a broken strand or two.

I got about 150 shots out of mine before the serving split.
