
Well, the other day after letting it down and taking the string off so I could lube the string, I noticed that my string was closer to the bottom line. I found this odd as I prefer it to be in the middle or toward the upper line (the one nearest the trigger).
No biggie I thought.
So tonight when I get done hunting, I let the string down and take the stringer off because I'll be bringing it inside for some routine cleaning. The first thing I noticed was that the string was touching the bumpers on my STS system. I know that I had intentionally left a gap just a few weeks ago. I then noticed that the string is not only touching the bumpers, but it's resting right over the lower line!

Apparently leaving your stringer on the string between hunts will cause it to stretch. And it can stretch more than I thought!! The string is an older one I"ve been using since last year.
So don't keep your stringer attached to the string!
