Well the ibex redeemed herself this morning, shot a small 7pt at 8:00. I'm not proud of the shot but it did the job. The deer was slightly angled away from me...at the shot it bolted and i hit him just in front of the left hind quarter, the spitfire exited just behind the right front leg. I let him lay for two hours and took up the blood trail. Had good blood & found him 50yds away.
When i cleaned him i found that the spitfire had center punched the liver...i'm glad i let him lay a couple hrs.

As far as the shot..... Not every shot can be perfect when you're dealing with a live animal. All you can do is make the best with each situation, which sounds like what you did.
