I've been reading some good reviews on that rifle. Sounds like you put together a real nice set up. Good luck on your hunt. :)

Image Had some time today to shoot. Pretty sure I'm done with load development. :D This thing kicks a bit, but I am very impressed with how well it shoots. Group was three rounds @ 100 yards.

A buddy of mine asked me if I wanted to hunt on his lease with him in VA. So I put my Valmet in the case and started getting my gear ready after Thanksgiving diner. The wife, looking a little disappointed asked why I was not hunting with my new rifle she had got me? I told her it was a little too powerful for dear. She just said OK, but it was the type of OK that means it's not OK. So yesterday I got to hunt with my new rifle my wonderful wife got me ;) I got a shot at a small spike at about 200ish yards. He was on one side of the field, I was on the other. He went about 10 yards back into the woods and went down. Going to can him up tomorrow. Image

I didn't mention in my earlier post I have one friend uses a 300 ultra. He has shot some elk in the 400 yard range, but he practices. Its a great gun. Kicks like a mule but when you are in the heat of battle you don't really notice it unless you creep alittle to close to the scope. Good luck on your hunt.

Nice set up you got there! I've shot those rifles a number of times and still can't understand why I don't have one yet? They are tack drivers
