frisky deer carrier (5 pictures)

Post by frisky »

In my post "frisky scores again" I was asked to show some pictures of my home built carrier.
The platform is 17 x45 inch. It is built of tubing I had at home. The mesh screen was HD concrete reinforcing screen. It is 1/4 thick and bent around the tube frame.
The frame is held onto the receiver 2" tube by HD muffler clamps bent square. I welded it all together, added some 1/2 pipe couplers to the frame ends. The 2 pipes that are screwed into the couplers are about 15 in long with rings welded on the ends for rope to go though. In the last pict the antlers and rear legs are tied to them. I keep this disassembled inside the car. I made a "T" wrench to tighten the nuts of the clamps.

Thanks for the post. I like the idea about taking it apart for storage. Because it would be in the way for my back doors. If needed, quick assembly. Thanks again, Frank :D

Pretty slick! It's probably a good thing that I don't know how to weld. I get in enough trouble with everything else that I know how to do.

But ya' know, if you'd trade in that Honda and get a pickup, you wouldn't need something like that.
