I'll try to keep this as short as I can so I don't bore too many here.

Since I was last posting regularly I showed pictures of my successful September doe. Well since then I've tagged two more. I used my Vortex to take an unusual looking 3 point at the end of October. He made me work for him, by running nearly 400yds and leaving me with a 150yd drag back out of heavy brush and woods.

It appeared to me that he may have damaged his right antler base when he was very young or possibly a birth defect of some sort. Weird though. I figured to take him because as he gets older he won't be able to protect his right eye when he spars with a mature buck.

Then tonight I finally got a deer with my handgun, that has been a long time in the coming. She, and a couple others, came to within 25yds of my stand about 4:45pm this evening. Of course the biggest of them was also the most on edge and thus the last to come out of her cover. When she did I was presented with a very nice broadside opportunity. I slowly raised the Ruger SuperRedHawk and got the sights inline with her torso and squeezed off a shot after which they all bolted for heavy cover of briar and woods (which sucks majorly). It was getting dark quick like and I couldn't find any sign of blood for the first 50yds. I instantly thought that I may have missed her completely, but then I found those first few precious drops of red. She led me for over 200yds into some deep crap but I was thoroughly relieved when I found her (now for the looong drag out).

Both hunts I would like to give credit to Darrell "DaGrizz" for the beautiful knife that he made for me for cleaning deer, thanks again Darrell.
I'm still wanting to go out hunting because I've seen this brute eating corn near my trailcam. There are a couple nice 8's and a 7 also but this guy is something else. Ignore that date on the cam, I screwed it up when i was trying to set it up for the first time the night before.

Thanks for taking the time to check out the pictures. I will try to check in more frequently when this semester is over.

Take care everyone, and God Bless.
PS Special thanks to my wife for letting me off my leash so that I can get some precious hunting time this season, she is sooooo understanding. I'm a lucky man to have her as my wife.
