You won't make a bad choice no matter what...but i shoot the slick trick mags out of my vortex. I like the extra cutting width & the vortex has plenty enough power to push it through deer & hogs.

Re: Slick trick broadheads... Which one?????
Something you'll have to consider is that the Firebolts were designed to have a 150 grain head. Only using 100 grain heads may not get your FOC percentage up to where you need it.
Personally, I'd go with a heavier head. Either that or put in some brass inserts into the front to help out with the FOC. If your FOC is too little, you're arrows won't fly worth a crap.
Slick Tricks have taken down many a deer and they're good heads. Just be sure if you use them you've got the rest of your arrow tuned so that they'll fly without any issues.

I've been using Slick Trick 100gr. magnums for 3 or 4 years and will continue as long as they make them. They do fly like a field point and will cut through a deer's shoulder blade or rib bones and keep going, and most have dropped within eyesight. Can't ask or expect more.

April 1 2012 SlickTrick is releasing a 150 grain version of the XbowTrick. The current Xbowtrick is 175 grain.

Best Fixed blade Broadhead I've used is the Slicktrick Mag. 100 gr. You should see what they do to Bears!!!
Ask Wheelie about the "Blood Flood" from my last Bear. and for Deer the same, huge non-closing hole!!

It did the job and left a good blood trail but I still prefer my NAP Spitfires.

Re: Slick trick broadheads... Which one?????
Got this one this past fall with Excalibur Boltcutters.
The point is, about any broadhead will take down a deer. Several have been proven "deer getters". The Slick Trick heads have taken down a bunch of deer. They're good heads. But there are plently of good heads out there. The thing is with fixed blade heads, you need a FOC percentage of about 15-20% at least to make them fly worth a crap. If you've got your arrows tuned right, you won't have any trouble getting your bow set up and tuned into a killing machine.

Re: Slick trick broadheads... Which one?????
Just make sure that about 15-20% of the total arrow weight is front of center (FOC). If the front and back of your arrows are essentially equal in weight, or there's more weight in the back, the blades on the broadhead will have a tendency to cause the arrow to windplane and they won't group very well. If you shoot big vanes (4") on the arrows, shooting a 150 grain broadhead (at the least) is recommended. If the broadheads aren't heavy enough, you're not going to have enough weight front of center.lswoody wrote:Well, how do you tune your bolts?????
There's several things you can do on this though. If you shoot shorter veins, then that's less weight. If you add a brass insert into the front, this will compensate for some of the weight of the broadhead (allowing you to shoot 100-125 grain heads).
Clear as mud?

Re: Slick trick broadheads... Which one?????
I started using the 125gr magnums last year..i love em and dont see me changing any time soon..they shoot very very good and are made exceptionaly well.i use Gt laser 2s but i tried em with some firebolts and they shot great ..
i agree with what has already been said..you cant go wrong with any of them..i chose 125 gr just for the fact i wanted to be in the middle.
