Congrats, I like all three photos. Are you going to mount the tail and the wings in that form? That would look awesome I believe. Thanks for showing us the pictures. I really enjoyed seeing them.
Thank you,
Raymond

Any good advice will be my first time hunting turkey this year ,season start in may . if i can get one like yours all be happy :D
Denis
this is my 4th year turk huntin and got skunked the last two so im still pretty green at it,,
but what i have learned is its easy to over call..they say most new hunters call to often and too loud. Im certainly guilty on both counts but im learnin the langage :D
By buddy who has been doing this for 40 years says if a gobbler answers you ..put your call down.
i didnt tell the story so ill run through it
for yall.. :D
i have been able to set my watch by the first crow.7:05
well at 7:04 ..first crow and a big gobble 100 yrds above me..i said ok man stay calm hes still on the roost give him a min..then a hen started yelpin down bellow.. crap i thought hes will want to go to her so i made some soft to medium yelps follwed by two clucks (box call),,he gobbled..i put my call down..waited..ten mins ..nothin then the hen yeped again..he gobbled ..i picked up my super hen slate..made some soft purrs and a couple clucks..nothin ..it went silent..i said crap did i do somthin wrong..so i waited about ten mins and since i was behind a rock the size of my truck i couldnt know that those jakes/2 yr olds..were working to me..next thin i know they are on my decoy and i dont have my gun up..so now i had 8-10 eyes and im starting to get buck fever ..or birds fever..im mean i had to talk my self down ..i thought the birds were goint to hear my breathing so i held my breath and about passed out  i started easin my gun up ..seemed like it took three hours to get it there when in reality probly a min. red dot on waddle .yall know the rest ..its kissin time
i guess if i lost those emotions ill stop huntin but i dont think i ever will..
as a fotnote im not sure the gobbler i hear was one of those unless they circled me ..any way im headin out this morn to the same rock ..who knows..God bless yall..happy huntin

Congrats! It doesnt look like a jake to me either. Turkey hunting is hard and anything is an accomplishment to be proud of. Season hasnt opened here yet but the strutting has.

Marks right. Can't necessarily tell age from the beard. The turkey that had this beard had 1" spurs and I figured him at about 3 years old. A biologist friend told me it had a condition known as beard rott brought about by an illness or nutrient deficiency.

As you can tell, when a turkey comes in gobbling and strutting I don't wait to see how long the beard is before shooting. :)
