200 lb limbs

Post by petey »

I have a 2012 Equinox and had no idea there was a 200 weight limit in some states and in case I hunt one of those states is it possible to just buy some 200 limbs to fit my crossbow? I love the 225lb bow but I don't want to be out of state and illegal. What to do?

Call Danny Miller 740-483-2312 @horizonal archery and maybe he can sell you a shorter rail to make it 200 lbs when you go out of state.

I don`t think you can do what you want
I believe all the Excal limbs are all the same and the power is proportionate to the draw length of this bow

hope this helps

Thank you...never thought of a shorter rail but I'm not very familiar with the tech part of different Excalibur crossbows.

I looked at down sizing from a equinox to a vortex rail in recent months. I've sent 3 emails during the last 12 weeks to excalibur asking about the possibility of buying a vortex rail and haven't even got a reply yet ! I was pretty surprised that they haven't even sent a reply. It may be easier for you to find someone willing to trade up from a vortex.

Well I don't really want to trade because in my state my bow is fine but I'm wanting to go back to Ohio hunting this season and didn't know when I bought the Equinox about the 200 lb limit. Guess I'll call Danny Miller and check on cost of a Vortex rail.

sounds like a good excuse to pick up a second Excalibur! ive purchased extra rails off ebay and although nice to be able to change out its a bit of a pain. you gotta change out the trigger and re zero the scope a bit. i wonder what states have poundage restrictions.
