Spitfire Broadheads

Post by Sloppy Does »

In my search for the broadhead that I'll take to the deer woods this year the NAP SPITFIRE MAX three blade 125 gr has made the list of the ones that I'm considering. 4 for 39.99 at Dicks. Love to hear what you think about them good and bad.

Used them once out of a Horton xbow probably 8 years ago or so - they were pretty new - and had a bad experience - no penetration. I'm sure there have been improvements since then but that's what happened to me. My thoughts now are that an "over the top" expandable loses alot of KE upon hitting the target and I'd rather avoid that so I shoot fixed blades. It takes a little more effort to tune them up, but when they fly right you know you have a great flying arrow. Other expandables I hear good things abour are the X0act and Swhacker. In fact Swhacker has some pretty impressive videos on Youtube you might want to check out.

I use the 100gr Max/Edge. They just work. They hit with the same POI as my field points and put deer down fast.

I used the spitfire xp's I 125gr. and always got pass through shots and good trails. They cut through ribs, etc., and keep going. I just changed over to grim reapers but haven't used them yet.

I have been hunting with the spitfires for quite a while now. It seems that every year I see a couple of other broadheads that look and sound real good so I try them and I keep going back to the spitfires they shoot very acurately and penetrate great and make an awesome wound channel, so I no longer am wasting my time and money on trying any other broadheads I am very confident in the spitfires, that I have taken many deer with.
