Sounds like everyone agrees - fox!
Now I have to guess if it was after the fawns or if it just happened to be passing by and spooked them off.
Could be it spooked them and it's instinct to give chase kicked in.

Just guessing when the fawns were born May or June and judging the size of the deer and canine in the pics, I've never seen a fox red or gray as big as fawn here this time of the yr, jmho

Fox. It it looks just like all the ones I have on camera...its moving. I bet they log 10 miles a day around here just walking around in big circles. You never see one stand still for more than a few seconds.
