At approx 5:20 ish I can here movement to my right and then spot a small 6 point poking out of the woods at 39yds and slowly makes his way into the beans broadside. Directly behind him I see another small racked 8 point pop his head out and slowly make his way into the beans but with more caution than his compadre. I decided that I would harvest the 8 if possible due to his greater body size. They milled about for approx 15 min and my target deer was facing me the entire time while the smaller one was broadside (go figure). Finally at 20yds he gave me a nice very slightly quartering away shot and I let an arrow fly his way. It hit the mark and they both bolted with the 8 loosing an incredible amount of blood. I watched him stumble and fall on an old Argo trail at the back of the property not 40 yds away from where he was hit. He was down by 5:35 pm.
After dressing him I waited for my friend to arrive with his tractor, threw him in the bucket and away we went to hang him in the barn. What a great evening.
