Just before quitting time I hear foot steps. I look to my right..nothing. I look down at a 60 degree angle, here is a buck. I wait till his head disappears behind the tree I am sitting in. I pick up my new crossbow "baby" flick off the safety. He turns and walks broad side in front of me. Well it's about 15 feet away. Do you know hard it is to find a object in a 3 power scope that close?
I finally found him and released the arrow. The meetseaker BH found it's mark. It's now 455 PM. I went home and ate supper, found a friend and went to look for the deer. After a 50 yard trail job we found him. It was a nice 9 point dead as a mackerel. Those 1955 era Coleman lanterns do a great job of lighting up the woods.
We used the land owners 1950's lawn tractor to haul it out after a short drag by me.
I bet we looked funny, tractor, with trailer, deer in trailer with my friend sitting on the deer, using a flash light for a head light.

I finally got home at 9PM. Long afternoon.

Went out to find my arrow and I did. Looks like I will use it next year. The deer innards are ALL gone,I thought some thing would be left. The tractor and trailer.
