Ibex D-Bars & Dyna FF Flemish String Install

Post by ShaneInMN »

I think I'm doing this right! I hope so. Hard to find pictures of how these D-Bars look when they're installed.

String just past the 1" self made mark on SMF rail -

Lookin' about right?? S5 should be here tomorrow, will put them on and should be set for accessories....for now!

The D-Bars came with two sets of bolts labeled A and B. The factory bolts that I had on my Ibex more closely resembled the bolts from A (the wider bolts with half threading) as far as bolt diameter, the other bolts seemed too thin.

Good deal, I didn't want to go off shooting it if this didn't seem normal, as woodspike posted that pic of the dbars they dont even look smooshed! Most of the pics that I've been able to find were with the string cocked, so a lot of that pressure on the pads doesn't exist.

Can't wait to get those S5's today and installed, then going to shoot most of the weekend if weather holds up!

Looks right. Did you install the thin plastic washers between the db bar & the limb? Can't tell from the picture.

S5 kit came today, got 'em installed. Easy deal. I'm not convinced that either the d-bars or s5 really did a whole lot to quiet it down. The vibration seems to have been reduced. The insurance that I will get from having these to prolong the life of the crossbow was worth the $60 bucks IMO.

Got my scope sighted in about what I think is right. 30 Yards is shooting 2" groups off a rest. I could probably tweak it in a little better but I don't have a fixed rest where everything stays completely still, more like a tripod type rest where there's still some movement.

I am so extremely happy with this bow and being able to work on it at home is HUGE !! I thoroughly enjoy my ventilator, but this Ibex has a special place in my arsenal that will never be ignored.

I thought the cocking sturup made some noise. I wraped mine in some rubber tape. To me it did help. :D

I put a string stopper system on my Exomax right after I got it.Then a Boo string with whiskers, then I filled voids inside plastic stock with foam, then changed to a wooden stock, then started shooting a little heavier arrows.None of these changes seemed to make much difference by them selves. But shoot an Exomax that doesnt have any and its a BIG deal.
