omni nock update

Post by jody5252 »

greetings followers of the Excalibur faith... about a month ago I asked about Omni nocks. decided to give them a try. well after appx. 60 shots with them on my arrows (Easton mags., 145 gr. tip, 3" flex fletch vanes) I have come to a conclusion. while this type of test could most likely be done better than how I did it. shooting at ranges from 10 to 35 yds., with my exocet 200, using red dot sight. I was shooting both the flat and the omnis 4 shots with each type of arrow/nock. 10 yds. no difference. 20-35 yd. groups with the omnis were not grouping well at all! some hit high. a few were ok... with the flats, excellent groups at all ranges. so, my humble opinion of the Omni nocks? that cost me $9.25 for 12!! Phoooey!!! no way am I going to use them. I'll stay with what works... just wanted to experiment with them.

If you paid $9.25 for a dozen omni's you got shafted. They are $4.00 a pack from TP or Wyverns.

TP requires them to be used on all 2013 bows or the owner voids the warantee. They're supposed to eliminate dry fires not add accuracy. I haven't tried them on Excal bow but my testing with TP bows hasn't shown them to be any more accurate than flat nocks.

They shoot great out of my Stealth. Never tried them in Excalibur as I saw no reason. If a bow will shoot flat nocks I use them. I suspect with what you are describing you need to rotate your arrows (poor man indexing). But again I don't see a reason to shoot them out of a bow that will shoot flat nocks unless someone is just wanting to add weight to the arrow.

Seems to me really serve no purpose in a flat-nock-shooting bow like Excal. In a 'moon bow', perhaps?

exactly... out of 4 shot groups, 1 or 2 would always be way off.
