If your string rests on the pads you need to adjust your brace height. I've seen many matrix 380s that are touching when they come new out of the box. Probably from the string stretching after it was boxed up. You will need a bow stringer to take the pressure off the string so you can put a few more twists in it. Ideally your string should be 1-2 string widths off the bumpers.JTL wrote:Do any of you guys leave your cocking aid on between hunts? It seems convenient to leave it on so it's not forgotten when heading out. It also takes the string off the suppressor pads, which should help with their longevity. It doesn't seem to pull the string back enough to cause any limb re-shaping. I wouldn't store it between seasons this way. I'm just talking about overnight between hunts.
Thoughts?

when u shoot the new target rub some bar soap on those arrows.
I had a really hard time breaking in the new target with my 380.
It shoots so fast the arrows heat up and kinda melt the new target to the arrows.
Made it really hard to get the arrows out.

NFH, thanks for the advice! I hadn't thought of string stretch. I don't have a stringer. But I bought it from our local now shop & they seem pretty good about supporting customers with tuning issues like that.
I don't expect I should pay for a tuning issue like that since it's barely a week old. Am I right?

I leave it on during my hunt's when not in use .Your string should't be touching your red's no how no matter what in idle mode.
Nice choice in equipment .it will serve you well .It's an addiction ,before you know it you will be adding custom string's arrow's and so on.

Took it back to the shop today and they tuned the string (I don't have a re-stringing tool yet). Shot it at 20 & 30 yards & it's dead on! The wife also shot it dead on at 20yds. She wanted to cock it herself and couldn't. LOL Made me feel manly. =B dur-dur
Even quieter now too.
I also took off the bipod. Carries better & shoots better from the shoulder without the extra weight.
Have any of you relocated the quiver?
Also, I'm using Swhacker 2.25" broadheads. Does anyone have experience with them?

There are a few different styles (a search on here and you can see) of over the rail quiver mounts.JTL wrote:.............

But many just carry the quiver in a back pack when walking and hang it on a hook when in a treestand or set on the ground in a ground blind. I almost never have my quiver mounted when at my watch, but sometimes do when walking.
