It was blowing 15 - 25 with higher gusts. I had to wait for the lulls to hopefully be heard. After maybe my 4th sequence of the morning he responded within a minute and came straight to me, then turned and walked broadside not 18-20 yards out and stopped........ with a small limb right in the center of my cross hairs! He stood there looking for the others bucks for a good two minutes, then made the fatal mistake of stepping forward. when I hit the trigger he took off like a scalded mule up the mountainside, then turned and went back down before stopping and falling over about 80 yards out, straight in front of me.
He's no monster for sure, but he's mature and this is HARD haunted public land not 20 minutes from my house in the Capitol city of Arkansas, and I fooled him, so I'm pretty pleased! 18"+ inside spread.
I never found the darn bolt, looked many times.
