Seems like an awesome idea. I hate tree steps!

Look like strap on tree steps to me. We used them a lot back in the late 70s and early 80s.TYE wrote:Seems like an awesome idea. I hate tree steps!

Now I am not as seasoned as maybe most of you folks but I saw the stepp ladder and think its better than anything on the market. I emailed Jim Stepp and ordered thirty of his stepps. That's enough for three 16' stands or how ever you want to configure them. I don't plan on using anything else, although I do have the climb paws which are ok but the stepps are way more solid. Just my 2 cents.

I am getting to the point where I should stay on the ground and I am strongly leaning towards a ghostblind. Works with mirrors and the deer just see the surroundings in the mirror. Greatest camo there is. I will let you know if it works out.

I keep reading that they're not in production anymore.

Sorry bud I meant the stepp ladder.
I have heard of the ghost blinds but what happens if the deer sees his reflection?

HaHaHa, It is tilted down enough where it only show the foliage right in front of it a few feet. I have heard that turkeys would walk up to it and peck at the other turkey they were looking at. Hopefully if its a deer it will have an arrow in it by the time its that close. Good question and I will let you know how it turns out. It is a fairly new idea, but a great way to ALWAYS have the right camo setup. From the videos its even possible to misplace the stand if you leave it and come back later to use it. It just disappears. Cool stand for sure.TYE wrote:Sorry bud I meant the stepp ladder.

I am about to pull the trigger on one. I am convinced that climbing a tree is rapidly becoming dangerous for me. I dearly love and always have hunted from a tree but my squirrel like abilities are surely fading and I still love being out there and fooling with those deer and they sure find me funny as all get out so I refuse to take away their fun. That ghost blind only weighs in at 12pounds and it has a cool carrying case. Only thing I need to figure out is what to sit on. I hunt swamps only and most chair just sink into the muck and I am back on the ground again. Could wrap a strap on seat on a tree and go that route. I have time to mull it over. Should be fun. Anyone up for a great treewalker climber??
Re: I've never seen a better ladder system
the strap on seat may be you answer mike. I saw one that summit makes. bad thing is it adds more weight.
