1st mornin it started rainin so i came home on the 1st bunch of water drops, Yesterday Josey Pie & myself jus eased along our old loggin road. She doesn't tree them jus chases them, . I did manage to kill 3 of the 4 i shot at runnin limbs n jumpin usin my Win. pump 16ga. This mornin i took my Mrs. 22 out wid Bushnell Banner 4x scope, my left eye has gotten to where the squirrels were blurry & i couldn't tell their head from their neck n body. I tried to shoot at 3 diff rats n missed all 3. I came home to cabin & took the 4x off i jus can't see well enuff anymore. I put my 1.5x6 scope on it, now i need to sight it in. I am hopin at 6x i can tell the rats head from body & be able to hit my target. Never thought my eyes would get like this, Spect i will have to getstid glasses, i have put that off fer past 4 yrs.
I hear ya. There are times where I know I am just simply not admitting that I could use some glass in front of my eye. You might find you wish you'd done it years ago. Let me know, maybe I'll follow suite!
Heck, wait until you get cataracts as well as needing bifocals! I couldn't see well at all, worse in low light situations. Ended up having the lenses replaced in my eyes. Wow, for the first time in over 40 years - no glasses, no contacts required and things are so bright I have to wear REALLY dark sunglasses. Lots of $$ and kinda creepy to have surgery on your eyes (which you are awake for) but so worth it.

To quote another member (sorry cant recall him) get'n old aint for sissies!
I can see the individual leaves on trees at 300-400 yards . . . but, if i get a load of seed ticks i'm screwed!

Hang in there Mike, maybe with some new glasses you'll be head-shooting squirrels at a hundred yards with your 22! I've worn glasses or contacts most of my life and I just went to bifocals late last year, 6 months and I'm still trying to get used to these dang things!

Worn contacts since high school and need reading glasses now also. You know you need them when you go out to eat and have to get your wife to read the menu for you.
Hi Vixenmaster. Aside from the obvious answer as to why yer shootin squirrels (it's fun), do you eat them? I know a lot of people do, like the Robertson's...happy happy happy!
You're only paranoid if everyone isn't out to get you.
Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
My enemy's friend is also my enemy.
Hiya Mike. Get the glasses. Five years ago I finally admitted to my self that I needed them and havn't looked back. Suddenly I could see that ear flicking at fifty yards or longer. The turning of a pheasants head now catches my eyes now instead of thinking its a leaf moving. It's a huge difference and more than worth the time it takes to get used to them. I found that if you wear a face mask you will have to burn some nostril holes to keep them from fogging up. Also a neck string attached to your glasses is a must or you might forget them when you set them down for a second. I left mine at the top of a hill and had to hoof a mile uphill to go back and get them. Make the string short so it doesn't hang up on branches or your bow sling. Happy huntin future foureyes.

PS. How many of you new glasses wearers have looked for misplaced glasses and found them perched on your cap or head? I'm one.

Boy hidy do we eat them rats, fast as i can killem n clean'em
I wear glasses but take them off for shooting.
I just refocused my scope for my bare eyes.
I done it that way as I get the glasses steaming up when shooting 3ds in wet humid woods.
If I look through the scope with glasses it's all a blur.
Try refocusing your scope.
Stuff that is close goes out of focus, that's to do with where the parallax of the scope is set.
I think crossbow scopes are set for about 30yds.
Hope this helps
