new micro on the way!
new micro on the way!
I've been looking at these since they came out and finally pulled the trigger (so to speak)
I talked to George at mainstreet and he got me all set up....and have a new string from Dan on the way as well.
I've been shooting bows for close to 30 years, and will continue shooting them untill I cant.....but this micro just seems like a whole bunch of fun.
The main selling point is that my 14 yr old daughter can join me more when she has time....she shot her first buck last week with a clunky, heavy, awkward wicked ridge I have...i feel this micro will be much more "manageable" for her
Any insight is appreciated...

The Micro size is pretty sweet, but you had better eat your Wheaties before cocking it. I don't have a problem, but it does take quite a bit of "umph".
Mine came in yesterday, and I absolutely love it. I've even been shooting in the rain this morning.

I hear it's a little stout....i should be ok with it, and don't plan on my daughter using it without me to load it.

Sure you got to put your back into it a little. but you're getting alot of energy out of that 9.5 inch power stroke. We love this thing. have shot it at the store a few times and it is a blast. They are moving quick, and for the PA archery season (the regular one anyways) being over, to see these bows finding new homes says alot. The Camo is great, but that Nightmare Black is pretty sweet looking too!
A great bow for daughters and parents alike!

I like mine so far. My winter mission is to try and find the right arrow/broadhead combo before spring turkey season.
Re: new micro on the way!
Cocking it will be tough for her, but never under estimate their strength. My youngest daughter is 23, she weighs about 115#, and is only 5'3" tall, but she was able to cock my Vortex, no problems!
I did shorten the hook length up about half way for her, so it was a short draw. Handling the bow, she will love it, it balances nicely in the hands, and you have all kind of room to move around in stands, or blinds. Can't wait to read your reviews.

Re: new micro on the way!
I handled a couple Micro 335s at a dealer today and man are they sweet handling bows. I cocked it and to me, it's as easy to draw as the M330. Before there is any real exertion, it's already latched due to the short powerstroke.
My wife shoots an M330 and it's at they very peak weight she'd ever be able shoot by herself. I'm thinking a Micro would probably be easier just because the powerstroke is shorter. I think there's a demand for a Micro 300 for women and young children. I wouldn't be surprised to see this one released someday.

The weight on these finished is 261 to 263 grains without points Jeff! I'm using 100 grain heads on mine, I think you said 125 grain heads was the plan on yours?? You should be good to go!

Re: new micro on the way!
Yep...125 slick trick mags is the plan....may see how the 100's fly as well.
Thanks for getting them done so quickly....with unlimited doe tags, and an overabundance of deer....I'll be going thru some arrows!

Jeff opted for 15.5" he is using Slick Trick magnum heads, and that would be perfect length to allow him to hang his bow in the stand. I'm sure he'll post back next week after shooting a bit.
