AWESOME LOOKING NEW PRODUCT

Post by paulaboutform »

I just looked at a link that was sent to me for a new video camera called Tactacam. The videos shot with it on bows, rifles, and shotgun looked fantastic. I've got a call in to them to see about mounting it to my crossbow scope. It looks like a little mini stabilizer for a compound. I think it's worth checking out. Would be neet to self film some shooting at the range and while hunting.

I definitely feel your pain vixenmaster, I prbly have no less than 15 camera cards lay in around for my trail cams and every time I pick one up it seems to have 200 pics of some non outdoors related function on it. And I am told that it's no longer mine!

Spoke to them. They said two full hours of run time, batteries and micro sd card extra. All different mounts included. Waterproof. $249 USD.

Love my ATN Shot Trak HD Action Gun Camera. Installed it on my Matrix 380 Blackout and have the docking panel set up so I can transfer to my Axiom when I decide to use that bow. I feel bad for the Axiom staying behind most of the time as it has been a fantastic crossbow for me.

The Shot Trak cam video is substantially better than the video from GoPro I was previously using. Very easy to turn on and use quietly in hunting situations.

For some reason the price has dropped significantly since I bought mine and you can now get the non-laser version for less than $100 on Amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/ATN-Shot-Trak-Act ... ion+Camera

You will need to also order a microSD card and a 16 gigabyte card gives you more than 2 hours of video. Probably best to also order some extra backup CR123 batteries if you plan to run camera much as one battery lasts about 4 hours.

A very positive review on the Amazon site shows photos with an Excalibur Matrix 380 Blackout with camera installed on rail opposite to quiver mount.

I have mine set up the same way and really like how easy it is to use. Thinking of buying another as a backup with price drop.

...welcome to the forum redarlo...a great review and information...I am still waiting for my brother paulaboutform to report back on the Tactacam...but based upon what I am hearing and the price I am definitely leaning toward the ATN Shot Trak HD...

Happy New Year and hope to hear more from you...

Sorry for the delay Anthony. I've been busy with the season then kinda under the weather. So, I've just starting playing with the tactacam and the best thing I can say so far is that their customer service is fantastic!
1.) It's a pain to set up
2.) You're relying on half or full second vibrations and blinking or solid lights that you can't see except in the dark to tell you if it's on/paused/off
3.) The footage is good but you can't rewind, slo-mo or pause unless you load it into your computer and edit there.
4.) Included directions are slim to none.

....the gentleman that helped me was great and I think I'll be contacting him one more time to arrange for a return authorization number for my tactacam. I think it's a great product for some but my needs are a little different than what this camera offers. The one very positive thing is that the twenty yard shots really looked like twenty yards.
