Did you get a Stringing Aid at time of purchase.
as mentioned earlier you will need one in order to maintain a proper brace height.
String Creep is greatest at the beginning.

Before you do start using it check it over top to bottom.
Screws ( check for tightness) / Surfaces. etc.

Play safe.

The first thing I advise is to set up on paper first and go through a set shooting routine. Before and after each and every shoot.
As you repeat the routine it will eventually become second nature.

It will prevent you from making the dreaded mistake of a dry fire.
Dry fires happen to the best but they tend to happen more so when first starting out.
An Ensure you engage your Safety each and every time you load a Quill (arrow).

A set shooting routine will also ensure yours and everyone around safety.

First shooting sessions tend to be from bench mount situation. If you have spent any time shooting a rifle from a bench you have most likely learned a bad habit from a Crossbow shooting perspective
So remember to keep your fingers , especially YOUR THUMB out of the strings path. Thumbs are one of nature's wonders which people usually do not appreciate until they lose the use of one so protect yours by being diligent .

Welcome to the forum.

To actually answer your question about brace height twist your string up to about 1/4" off your string stops and you will be good to go. The new string will probably stretch as it settles in so keep an eye on it.

The M335 is supposed to have a new shorter string on it that actually sits higher up. If yours is this way just shoot it and it will eventually settle in at a lower brace height. Just keep an eye on it and do not let it get too low.

All good points, string should be twisted counter clockwise. That will keep the center serving from being unraveled.

Welcome to the forum!
Already some great advice offered. Learn the basics with the factory package, then upgrade as the need (or more likely, desire) arises.

....Welcome Joeyf...you surely are a smart one in that you have come to the forum first, introduced yourself looking for advice and stating your purchasing intentions...

....a lot might seem overwhelming at first but I can guarantee that, if you visit this forum on a regular basis. you will be up to speed in no time...

....all the advice from the previous responders is spot on....you really do need to purchase a stringing aid for when you have to adjust your brace height on the bow...sounds like a lot and might seem overwhelming but it really is not...

.....search this sight for adjusting brace height or just ask away....everyone is more than helpful...

.....is there anyone local to you who owns an Excalibur that maybe you can meet up with and assist you with hands on teaching?....how about a local archery club?....a local archery forum might also provide you with someone local to you....

.....in any event, we are all here to help so just ask away....

All the best to you and again welcome aboard!

Anthony :)
some of the local clubs charge $300 plus a year for membership, i don't know anyone at moment but i am asking around thanks for advice

what side of town are you on? I have places to shoot just east of town and or in burford/princeton area. If you need some one to help you get thing down and running smooth we could work sometime in on weekends.

There are many helpful people here. I learned a lot from them. They were extremely patient and understanding in explaining what were pretty basic things, but at the time seemed complicated to me who was just getting started.

I am a big believer in the C2 crank cocking aid. If you have any trouble at all pulling back your Xbow to load consider getting one, because it's only a matter of time before you have shoulder and back problems after pulling back multiple times to load. (I got mine from Wyvern's at a good price)

I also find that the C2 along with the stringing aid helps me adjust the string brace height on my bow and makes this process easy. I use the anti reverse lever on the C2 and pull the stringing aid back until the string is loose enough to adjust.

Keep in mind at all times to keep your hands, fingers - anything out of the way of the danger zone triangle area when adjusting your string, loading your bow, shooting etc.

Good luck, you will enjoy shooting your new bow.
