String tightness

380 came with string already on and it was pretty straight. Now string is firmly on the stops and actually about a 1/2" curve in string now. I guess from string stretching, should I put a twist in string to back off the stops some?

I am new to crossbow hunting and shooting Excals. String stretching and brace height are one of the lessons you will learn quick. My 405 has about 20 twist in it now and still needs a couple more. Mine did the same thing you have. Go ahead and put on your stringing aid and turn your string COUNTERCLOCKWISE about eight twist then check that your string is about 1/4 inch from the stops. It will stretch again so check keep an eye on it. After you do that just shoot, shoot and shoot some more. Later you will want a better string and their a tons of folks right here on E/C/F that will be happy to assist you.

YES!!! Measured from where the rail meets the riser (there's the seem there where the rail is attahed). That seem to the front of the string should be 3/4". If you twist the string more, I do mine to 1 1/8" - 1 1/4", it will settle in pretty close to the 3/4" brace height that you want. A quick reference is a 1/4" between the bumpers and the string. If you initially try setting your brace height exactly where it needs to be you'll be continuously chasing it.It's more effective to set it as I described. Enjoy your new bow.

My blackout 380 has a line machined across rail at brace position.
I keep it 1/8"-1/4" behind that mark. Easy trick some on here have
mentioned, is a marker or paint mark on sides of rail were you want
to keep height at for ease of reference.
The more i shoot mine, the more i relize my wise choice.

There were some issues with strings settling, and stretching a lot. You may have gotten one that was in inventory somewhere, contact Danny Miller in the US, he might send a replacement to you.

I see bows in retailers that have been strung for months and years even (mostly the big box retailers). They put them together and zap strap the string so the bow can't be drawn. Over time the strings stretch and are way off the recommended brace height and if they have string stoppers on them they are cutting into them. The staff just don't seem to think that maintaining a proper brace height is necessary.
