Info for Beginner
Hi All,
I'm just getting into hunting this season. I'll be taking the hunters safety course very soon, and then going moose hunting north of Thunder Bay. Other members of our group are very experienced gun hunters, but no one has ever used a crossbow. I'm looking for any info that would help me set up for this trip - please feel free to impart your wisdom!
- where to buy a crossbow? ( I live in Ottawa, ON)
- moose hunting techniques with a crossbow.
- how to understand women (just seeing if you are listening)
- some resources (besides this excellent forum) for beginners. books, people, courses, whatever helps get me up to speed.
Thanks,
~ Kevin.

That sounds likely, but I didn't want to assume thats what he meant. As I said before, the gun hunters I am going with are experienced, which I assume means they know how not to shoot each other
That being said, you know what happens when you assume. Advice on gun/crossbow hunting together is still appreciated. They are not used of crossbows (neither am I) so I want to give this some serious thought to prevent any problems.

Kevin,
I just wanted to clarify that point. There was really no thought behind it other that with archery you need to get the moose in within approx 30 yards or so. Will you be wearing camo or blaze orange? If you are wearing camo it is not your gang I would be worried about it is every other Tom-Dick and Harry in the bush I would be worried about.
Once again there really was not any purpose behind my question I just was looking for some clarification that's all.

Sandman

Kevin, take a look at this site it seem's pretty good. http://www.mooseheaven.com In addition, the ministry put out two books on moose hunting one on biology and one on hunting they were very good. Not sure if they are still around or not.
