I have an Exomag and went yesterday to buy new bolts for xbow. The guy at the sporting good store said that I have been using the wrong arrows. Mine have a flat nock and he said they need to have a groove in them like on the Hortons. These are the ones that came with my exomag. This is only my 3rd season using my exomag (which I love as much as my John Deere tractor). Was this guy blowing smoke or am I missing something? Thanks in advance! Jim
That guy is BLOWING SMOKE for your Exomag.....Flat nocks only....Just the way Excalibur states. Excalibur use's the same insert front and back for use with their bolt puller. Flat nocks work just fine you have too pull your bolt by hand, just a litte harder. The half moon nocks are horton.
i'm betting he just got a super duper large shipment of those wonderful moon nock bolts... (or maybe he didn't have a clue as to what he was talking about )
Don't think I'd be shopping there unless I knew exactly what I was looking for. Sounds like the guy is trying to pull a fast one or he just doesn't have a clue . When ever I have a question I post it here and it gets answered fast and RIGHT!
Actually, I've been hearing people complain that when they use the half moon ones, they seem to be having the odd occurence of the string jumping the bolt, and causing a dry0fire type situation.
they may not be realizing that the cock feather on the nocked bolt needs to go down...or they forget... yep it comes out of there alright...where she stops, (or goes) nobody knows
