Re: Slooowww 380
Thanks peter. I would never say you were trying to deceive anyone with speeds. And as you said you CAN'T test them all and stuff just happens and a slower limb set can get by. It's nice to know that you are there for us.
And it's really not the point but like you said that a few fps one way or another won't matter for deer. And you know what that's true. As it seems most don't care about fps here and only reliability and that's what's awesome with Excalibur VERY reliable bows for us.
Thanks Pete.

Re: Slooowww 380
I would not be able to dodge an arrow out of either of my crossbows plus or minus advertised speeds.
Having not run them through a chrono I have no accurate figure, thus no concern.
A buyer is entitled to achieve advertised speeds. Hard to argue that.
By matching factory methods and set ups first before approaching the factory though.
Speed don't kill for me with cutting edges. Accurate transfer of energy and hemorrhage following damage does.
My gear can do that if I do my part.
The integrity of the gear is dependent at it's beginning out of my hands.
Now it's on me if acceptable standards of specs stay in tolerance, short of any major manufacturing defect.
15 f.p.s. no worry here. Nor is dependability and serviceability.
I did go with speed on my last one when still shooting a vertical compound.
Made it harder in more ways than one to maintain previous level of accuracy and noise. Less speed ,to me, is a softer shot process with arrow the business part of killing.
Maybe I could be more picky, but my research proved out alright and I have a couple bows that will outshoot me and are durable, proven, and don't need a tech, annually, or a press to keep in tune.

Re: Slooowww 380
My Equinox shot advertised speed but only with the stock endless set on the lowest hash mark. I think a few others above may have hit the mark on this speed thing. For every millimeter the string moves up, speed is lost. With the s5 or baby bumpers on the bow you cant use the lowest hash mark. Makes me wonder if the adv. speed was determined with a bare bows.
