Is it completely finished. It would look awesome if you could finish with something to bring out the grain. Just a suggestion. I really like the design. What does it weigh, roughly?
I just finished up a stock for a fella by the name of Lou Marino, tested it out today on the emag and also completed the finish on my latest quilted maple stock . here are a couple photos.
Lou`s stock is a fall camo color and photos dont do it justice!!!!!!!

Blur, nice job. I'll bet the weight of the hickory damped the recoil and noise didn't it? Did you do the inletting by hand or did you use a router? Also, did you come up with the stock template on your own? Dan
Thanks everyone for you comments.
Yes GaryL..it does fit like a glove. When you bring it up the sight and trigger are right there.
The grain didn't come up as good as ihad hoped.I put two coats of golden pecan on for a finish. It weighs 2.1 lbs verses the factory one at 1.8 lbs.
The inletting was done with a scroll saw, dremil, sanding drums on an electric drill, and a lot of wood chiseling..30 hours in all.
The pattern is a combination of the original stock forearm and the rest i "borrowed" from pictures of Mark's great stocks.
I hope to make one out of cherry this winter..not sure of the style yet
