Glad on my decision!
Glad on my decision!
Just bought my daughter a Grizzly and can't be more pleased with accuracy and looks of this xbow. I may have to after this season invest in one for me. Just a question if you can help out? I was wanting to put the S5 on it in case she happens to dry fire when I am not looking and the brakes. Do u recommend these? Can't wait to get her out on the 15th for our youth day!

The S5's will be good insurance...will help take a little "twang" out to.

I know exactly how you feel. I've been shooting traditional archery for 20 plus years and recently got the itch to buy an Excalibur. The first one I got was the Micro 335 for my son and then I quickly went out and got the Matrix 380 for myself. I put air brakes on both, then purchased custom bolts. Amazed at the accuracy at this point.Bowhunt2 wrote:Thanks and I am really impressed for the first time shootibg this how accurate they are. I am sold for sue!
Added a trigger tech trigger and upgraded the scope to the Zeiss XB75.
Let just say that I have managed to shoot several of my bolts still I the target, certainly not on purpose, but none the less.
I completely understand how your feeling with your grizzly and hope to hear your thoughts after you get your own Excalibur. Lots of great help on this forum and good reading as well. I hope your daughter is half as stoked as you are. Good luck whether it's in the field or target shooting and stay safe.

Thxs Ironcat- I am learning that its not about me anymore and with my daughter getting motivated by all of hunting but more importantly the outdoors and I just look forward to now sitting in a blind enjoying what I love with my daughter. Now I can get her away fron couch surfing and the technology stuff!

Congrats on your daughters new Excal and good luck on youth day.

If you're worried about a possible dry-fire why not add the Guardian ADF?

Yeah your right about that but since I will be cockibg and loading it for her I think we can put funds to other add ons. Just can't believe Excal doesn't make that a standard feature!

Re: Glad on my decision!
Before you order S-5's I think you need to check, as those were used on the older origional style bows as their riser was different than the new ones... I'm not sure that a Matrix set of RED's will fit ? but, I think I heard the ones for a micro will actually fit the new Grizzly.... I would caution you to ask around and confirm what you need before buying or ordering.

Congrats. Hope you got the stringing tool, and brace height worked out, that is vital to the life of the bow, and accuracy. I would contact Danny Miller
