Micro limb failure
Micro limb failure
Last Friday evening I was sitting in the woods with my micro which I've owned for about a month. I heard a ting and shortly after another ting noise. I looked at the limbs and saw splinters on right limb (camo). Within a few minutes there was a very loud crack and I observed a long split in the limb near where it mounts. Within 5 minutes another loud crack and the right limb broke off.
I left the woods and made a call to Danny Miller. He told me to bring it down and he would install black limbs. He was an hour drive away. Within 3 hours of the limb breaking I was back in business. Danny stated that if I wanted the camo limbs he would change them when he got them in. He was really great to me. He placed a new blue string on it which he said would be on the new excalibers next year. He took the bow out in his yard and sighted it in after first going over the whole bow. He really took the sting out of the limb breaking. Still love the micro!

Sorry to hear about your limb issue but good to hear Danny got you set up and back in the hunt. He sure is a good fella!

Gun control is like trying to reduce drunk driving by making it tougher for sober people to own cars.

If it wasn't for Excaliburs warranty, there's no way I'd buy another 335. Love the bow. But not having the peace of mind in it will last threw a season sucks. It's like owning a ticking time bomb. You just never know if or when. Odds are in when, on this model. Mine was within 75 Shots all stock when my limb went south. I'd rather have excellence in the bow than warranty. Excalibur use to be both. My 355 is holding my faith though. Hope to see some quality come threw at the upcoming ATA show. Not just new cooler looks. But actual quality.

Re: Micro limb failure
I'm going to leave the black limbs on the bow. Danny said that he replaces mostly camo limbs. Thought there might be a problem in the camo application.

I think he replaces mostly camo limbs because they most likely sell ten camo bows for every one black one.Chief51 wrote:I'm going to leave the black limbs on the bow. Danny said that he replaces mostly camo limbs. Thought there might be a problem in the camo application.
Hunt eat sleep repeat.
Re: Micro limb failure
Danny knows crossbows and isn't afraid to point out problems. He steered me away from the "Chinese junk" scopes to Leupold after several scope failures and I haven't had a scope problem since!Chief51 wrote:I'm going to leave the black limbs on the bow. And black matches any camo pattern so you don't have to worry about the limbs not matching the stock!

I am very pleased with the micro. It meets everything I wanted in a crossbow. With a company such as Excalibur I know I didn't go wrong. If I had to do it all over again I would buy the micro.

Re: Micro limb failure
Regarding the comment about the application of the camo. There are stress lines on the inside of my left limb near the bend where the string is on my Micro. I don't recall if they were there when I first got it. I have under 50 shots through my Micro. As far as I can tell it's just cosmetic and is only the paint.
If I were to replace the limbs with black ones for peace of mind in the future, what would a set cost me?

I didn't ask Danny what the limbs would cost if I bought them. Mine were covered through warranty
