? for those with a 380 Matrix
I am planning on changing out my 355 rail very soon to one from a 380. I have a couple questions I'd like to ask prior to the change around.
Is the riser and limb angle the same on a 355 as it is on a 380 ?
Does anyone see any unseen problems I may not be aware of?
Lastly for those who have ran some chrono #'s on their 380, any idea of realistic speeds I may expect with arrows ranging from 385 thru 440 grains? specifically 415 and 440 grains.
All help and advise appreciated.
Thank's, Gene

Good ? if the limbs on the matrixs are all the same why cant you u just change rails to increase speed? and does Excalibur sell the rails separately?
Re: ? for those with a 380 Matrix
Out of my 380 a 405 grain arrow sped thru my crono at 358-359 fps and only a mainframe length difference divides the 355 and 380.
For every 3 grains gained or lost represents a 1 fps gained or lost in the Matrix series.
I don't see any issues.

My 380 shoots 361 fps with 400gr arrow and that's using a heavy Flemish String.

Re: ? for those with a 380 Matrix
Thank's guys....I'm really looking forward to enjoying the performance numbers your giving and the advantages it can contribute to shot's out West here where I hunt
Now, if I can just pull it ? But that's a question only I can answer
I find 270 # do-able on my Micro 335 as it's a very short draw. The 240 # on the Matrix is OK at this time. However, at almost 65
as well as being vertically challanged at only 5'7",
I'm not sure how I'll handle that extra inch of pull as it approaches 260 # at that point?
It looks like I'll be finding out pretty soon.
Thank's for the great replys

I think you can do it
My 80 year old dad was able to cock my 355 Micro +, even with a previous non repaired completely torn bicep and two bad shoulders.

You can. Don't know if Excal sells rails but watch the trading post. You also can have one machined to shorten, for a lesser poundage bow.monge wrote:Good ? if the limbs on the matrixs are all the same why cant you u just change rails to increase speed? and does Excalibur sell the rails separately?

I have bad shoulders and use a crank. Otherwise I wouldn't be "bow" hunting at all. You might want to consider one rather than screw up your shoulders or back.L. E. We don't typically sell crossbow parts. If you have a warranty issue we will replace the parts but we don't sell components like rails separately.Good ? if the limbs on the matrixs are all the same why cant you u just change rails to increase speed? and does Excalibur sell the rails separately?

Re: ? for those with a 380 Matrix
My lynx has 97.0 deflection limbs and shoots a 440 Grain Spynal Tapp @ 349.7 fps average for a 10 shot string, with a .8 fps extreme spread. This is my hunting arrow.
It shoots a 396 grain Spynal Tapp @ 358 fps and a 388 grain Spynal Tapp @ 363 fps, and a 362 grain Spynal Tapp @ 375.8 fps.
The Mad Max with 98.5 and 98.0 deflection rated limbs shoots a 455 grain Zombie Slayer @ 345 fps, my main hunting arrow and zeroed @ 30 yards, with 40, 50, and 61 yards the following aiming points. I also shoot a 542 grain arrow in it @ 323 fps, and it is my best shooting set up, it shoots the with the same scope setting but is dead on at 23 yards 32 yards 42 yards and 51 yards, the 60 and 70 yard pins are dead on.
I have found the heavier arrows in each bow shoot more accurate when shooting on windy days, they are not blown around as bad at longer range.
Oh,,,,, have I ever mentioned, the 380 is my #1 and my favorite bow for hunting,,, they are both Tack drivers.
Yes it is no more than a stretched rail 355!
