Micro 315
Just bought the Excalibur Micro 315, I'm having problems with accuracy. 20 yards its great, 50 I'm all over, 40 I'm all over, 30 I'm all over. My hubby shot it as well same problem, he has the matrix 355, his shoots great! We both watched the video , twice. Still can't get this to shoot a group past 20 yards, we hAve done everything! . Any info would help. I'm thinking speed, maybe wrong limbs are in this bow. We are shooting the arrows that came with it, scope is great, we are shooting from the shooting bench so it's stable...help, before I take it back.Teresa
Re: Micro 315
Check for any loose bolts or screws on the bow and scope mount. That might be the problem.

Re: Micro 315
We checked all screws and scope, all tightned. I just think paying this much money, it should hit better than a group bigger than a paper plate and being all over. I'm not use to such a terrible group. I shoot a compound and have for 30 plus years, never had a problem like this. I'm taking it to the archery shop I bought it and have them look at it.
Re: Micro 315
X3 on loose screws. If you return to 20 yards, and it is dead on, the next question after all fasteners are checked is this, are you shooting from a rest? Also, when you say all over, is this high, low, right, left, or all of the mentioned?

Re: Micro 315
Slow down, take a deep breath, and remember, if you're upset, you will not shoot well. If you are certain all the fasteners are secure, how is the brace height?Teresa wrote:We checked all screws and scope, all tightned. Re: Micro 315

Re: Micro 315
OK make sure the scope doesn't move up n down! If'en it does then yer trigger assembly screws are loose, also ck the stock screws. If those are good take one arrow n make a dot on one vane to use as a cock vane down. Shoot that one arrow 3 times to make sure it hits all 3 times in the same hole area
Re: Micro 315
I had the same problem when my Matrix 350 LE scope finally arrived. Sighted in well 1st day and was off the next day. I started checking and had a loose scope mount screw. I put a little blue locktite on it and the 3rd day all was well again and the scope was dead on again.
Check ALL the screws.....If it is still off it is probably the scope.

Re: Micro 315
I've gotta agree with the whole screws, thing. Don't ONLY check the screws on the scope rings, check the little screws that hold the rail onto the bow as well.. If any of them are loose, you'll get accuracy to 20, but then you will indeed be all over the place beyond that.
Sit back and oogle at any and all screws that are near the scope, rail, etc, etc.. there should be something like 10 to 12 screws all-in-all that need checking for tightness.

Do not know why I am commenting new to crossbows but 315 is nice bow I have 335 and it shoots almost in same holes at 30 yards with quill arrows....But if scope is loose why is it shooting fine at 20 yards? You would think that would be off too...Teresa wrote:Just bought the Excalibur Micro 315, I'm having problems with accuracy. 20 yards its great, 50 I'm all over, 40 I'm all over, 30 I'm all over. Could incorrect Brace Height cause this?
Re: Micro 315
With a screw loose here or there, your accuracy at close range may be fine, and you'll only run into problems at the farther distances, because that's when a slight angle becomes noticeable. But again, it may be that all the screws that are on the rings and ring clamps (that clamp it to the rail) are indeed tight! There are still four other little screws that connect that rail to the bow itself. Re: Micro 315
The best way to trouble shoot an accuracy issue is do one thing at a time in logical order.
1- check all bolts and screws to confirm nothing is loose. (looks like you're good there)
2- Start by shooting field points only. Some broad heads do not play well with some arrows.
3- Shoot only one arrow and not on a windy day.
4- Always start at 20 yards, longer shots may result in lost arrows which can get expensive.
5-If you get good groups at 20 yards shooting the one arrow move to 30 yards and check it there. If 30 yards is good longer yardages usually are as well.
6- If shooting the one arrow groups well but using multiple arrows does not, you have some arrows that may have issues.
7-If the one arrow does not group at any yardage then you have a faulty scope and we would replace it under warranty.
Accuracy issues are frustrating but usually easy to fix. The crossbow itself rarely causes accuracy issues since there is very little to go wrong, its normally the scope or arrows that cause the problem.
The other issue is some shooters expect crazy accuracy because their buddy is shooting 1" groups at 50 yards. Our guarantee is 3" groups at 30 yards. Better groups are achievable but it requires some tuning and playing with arrows which many on here are very good at!
