Micro 315 vs matrix 330
What is easier to cock? Shorter power stroke or lighter draw weight? Thanks
Re: Micro 315 vs matrix 330
The lighter draw weight! The 330 is much easier to cock than the Micro, the power stroke is only ~ 1" longer at the Matrix and 220lbs. The Micro 315 has 40lbs more!

Re: Micro 315 vs matrix 330
I own a 330 but have shot my friends Micro 315, my 330 cocks a lot easier than his 315. I like the compactness of the Micro but to me they're not a pleasure to shoot more than 10-15 times at a sitting. I also have a Matrix 350 and it seems to cock easier also than the 315. They're both great little crossbows, either one would be a great choice.

I can cock and shoot the 330 all day but the 315 is just for hunting. You will also find that the 330 is less fussy.

if you can cock a 315 then you could cock a 335. they build up the pounds right from the start and arent fun all day shooters.

I think the 330 is under-appreciated.

Re: Micro 315 vs matrix 330
It will be used strictly for hunting for small stature so not repetitious target shooting!!!
Re: Micro 315 vs matrix 330
Define small stature. My daughter who is 5' and a co-worker who is 5'2", couldn't pull the rope up far enough on the Matrix 330 nor the Axiom SMF. They could both get it to the dry-fire catch but not to the trigger latch. And my daughter isn't a weakling, she can toss hay and 50# feed bags around easily. I ended up picking up a Sapphire for her and one of my sons, and if they hunt at the same time I'll cock the Matrix and that person only gets 1 shot.
I don't know if my daughter could do a Micro or not, chose to buy a Matrix 350 instead so all my bows could use the same bolts.
Reference the link on the left under Support, "Selecting the Right Crossbow", and scroll to the bottom chart. It gives heights and pretty accurate cocking ability for the popular models.

Have you shortened the rope cocker as much as you can? Putting their head back or looking up while cocking makes a big differnce as well.RobD wrote:Define small stature. Re: Micro 315 vs matrix 330
Yup, did those things. It helped my daughter get it to the ADF catch, but she just couldn't get it any further. But that's OK, they both like the Sapphire and my daughter doesn't mind going out with the single-shot 355.Boo wrote:Have you shortened the rope cocker as much as you can?
