the grass isn't always greener
I've been using a compound crossbow for target shooting for the last month or so.
I've come to the conclusion that you can't beat the simplicity of a re-curve. My Micro is dead on out to 40 yards with ease. I can barely get the compound to group @ 20 with the same arrows. Perhaps I'm doing something wrong..... Lol
My main bow is still my Micro 355....

Jeff, I can't speak for your wheelie (which looks and feels awesome ) but I must admit I'm very pleased with my Frankenbow tack driver. My use is limited to the shooting at Boofest which was a lot. The simplicity of the excals is also my favorite. However, the toy like draw of my Frankie and it's blistering speed far outperforms any of my much loved excals. Maybe you just need to find the arrow combination that model of bow likes to shoot???

Re: the grass isn't always greener
Jeff, this ain't no ordinary bow. It's an air deck bow so you have to look at it as if it's a compound turned on it's side. So it's a matter of tuning and I'm sure that your Zombies are too stiff.
But you are right, Excaliburs will shoot anything well that is reasonably close to the right set up. I don't know if you've been paying attention but compound crossbow shooters sure do expect less that we do!

Andrew is currently using 100 grain fieldpoints and plans to use the Rocket Hammerhead 100gr. mechanical for deer this fall. So far he gives his bow a 10/10 in all regards, and seeing his huge satisfied smile is priceless.

We are all just spoiled how easy these Excals spit things where you aim alsmost no matter the arrow setup.
I believe that the zombies will be too stiff for them.

Re: the grass isn't always greener
I guess we have high expectatiojs after having a recurve all these years. lol
I took it out to 30 yards and man did it open up on me.
I'm going to get some executioners before October deer season for round 2. I'm not confident with it yet to use it in the bear woods.

I just spent an entire year shooting compounds. I am back to recurve only again. Too easy, accurate, and shooter friendly. Here they are

Re: the grass isn't always greener
They like heavier FOC Jeff, i am usin the deathstalker arrows but changed the 100 gr pt out to a 170 gr pt that matches my FOC B-heads. I am getting 1" groups at 30 yds at my sight in practice. Nutten wrong wid the crossbow, jus a learnin curve. I really like mine, don't plan to give it up, its lite an great handlin, its shoots the lights out
