Hurricanes...here we go again
Last year I lost two weeks of bow season when Savannah was struck by hurricane Mathew, now Irma is tracking right over the top of us for a possible hit on Monday.
Opening day is Saturday and I will be spending it getting the house ready if I can find materials. If not oh well
Sending the family to Tennessee and I will probably ride it out with a friend about an hour up the road so I can be closer to home when this is done.
To everyone in it's path be safe and good luck.

....GB and others affected by the Hurricanes. be safe....property can be replaced, albeit at tremendous hardship in some instances, but family cannot....sounds like at least you have a plan in place....georgiaboy wrote: ↑Thu Sep 07, 2017 6:32 amLast year I lost two weeks of bow season when Savannah was struck by hurricane Mathew, now Irma is tracking right over the top of us for a possible hit on Monday.

Just when I was starting to miss the house I sold at the S.C. coast, this reminds me of one of the reasons I sold it. Good luck georgiaboy and everyone else in the storms path, I hope it turns out to sea and all the evacuations can be called a civil defense drill.

Re: Hurricanes...here we go again
Good luck GB and all others affected.
We have been closely following the projected path with each update. Already got the generator out of the shed, ran it, and put it on the back porch. Have 3 cans of ethanol-free gas for it. Other necessities stocked up, cash, water, ice, propane for grill, candles, batteries, flashlights, lantern, etc. Have two VHF/weather radios. External power source for cell phones. PLB in event of extreme emergency. Chain saw and tractor/rake ready to go.
8:00 AM NHC update this morning has the storm moving through my area Sunday night and Monday morning offshore of the east cost so we will likely still have a pretty good wind event with trees and large branches falling, power outages, and possible flooding as we are already near flood stage in many areas. My sister lives on the east coast and will probably have severe weather at her house. Mom and Dad are further inland and should be ok but are mobility impaired so I will maintain close communications with them. And of coarse the path could still change.

Re: Hurricanes...here we go again
I see that they have now issued an evacuation order for the Savannah area Georgiaboy so be safe and let us know how things are going. I think I'm just in for a lot of rain and 60mph winds here in the mountains Monday night into Tuesday.georgiaboy wrote: ↑Thu Sep 07, 2017 6:32 amLast year I lost two weeks of bow season when Savannah was struck by hurricane Mathew, now Irma is tracking right over the top of us for a possible hit on Monday.

We need to talk the liberal hippie tree huggers into looking for a way to stop hurricanes---and leave everything else alone. May God let the rest of us get through this safely.
