FYI, everyone is invited to Boofest

That sounds like it could be a great time. I am a member of the Shamrock Boat Owners forum and we do the same thing each year at one of the members house that lives in Emerald Isle, NC...... Meeting people you talk to on the computer can be a lot of fun and making good friends. Unfortunately the time period for the Boofest is the same time period my family goes on our annual vacation. Maybe next year I might be able to make it.... I hope everyone has a great time and thanks for taking the time to explain what the event curtails.

Don we don`t have to have a charity every year . It does take a lot of yours and Karin`s time .

This is true, perhaps a donation to a foundation would be a good way this year?Doe Master wrote: ↑Sat Mar 10, 2018 5:49 amDon we don`t have to have a charity every year . It does take a lot of yours and Karin`s time .
I do know from past experience that it can be difficult to choose and keep everyone happy. I know personally I can never pass a sick-kids box without dropping something in there.

Children's sick kids hospital always sounds good or Ronald McDonald House

I'd prefer to put it directly into someone's hands to eliminate the 80% loss to administration and paying for a fat assed administrator's Porsche.exocet200hunter wrote: ↑Wed Mar 21, 2018 7:08 pmChildren's sick kids hospital always sounds good or Ronald McDonald House

Don there is a Shriners hospital in Montreal that specializes in crippled kids. There is NEVER a charge for the family.
Shriners Hospital donation percentage
Financial Performance Metrics
Program Expenses (Percent of the charity's total expenses spent on the programs and services it delivers) 82.4%
Administrative Expenses 12.3%
Fundraising Expenses 5.2%

Are you saying that 82.4% of the donations actually reach the kids? BTW, Sick Kids does not charge the family anything. They do have a set up for accommodating families of kids that get treatment and a few other benefits.Gwens Dilemma wrote: ↑Wed Mar 21, 2018 8:19 pmDon there is a Shriners hospital in Montreal that specializes in crippled kids. I would like to keep something good in my back pocket for when a worthy recipient isn't discovered and this would be the best so far. Meantime, a Boofest recipient will get 100 of donations.
Some facts that us grown-ups have to face. In order for me to get donations from archery manufacturers and alike, the recipient almost has to be an related to archery. Otherwise, I'll just be another person with his hand out. While I know that's not true of Excalibur, because Rob will give me a couple of bows for a good cause, it will not be for many donors.

Don, I'm not trying to influence you. Just wanted to point out a charity that I know of that seems decent. I applaud what you and Karen have done and continue to do. Sending nothing but positive vibes and prayers your way. Like I've said before, there must be a special place at the right hand of "I Am"
Re: FYI, everyone is invited to Boofest
Don't stress. There's nothing wrong with suggestions or challenging ideas. It all goes towards improving things. I would hate to live in a world where people don't offer suggestions or question things. It's all good!Gwens Dilemma wrote: ↑Sat Mar 31, 2018 7:04 pmDon, I'm not trying to influence you. If you're talking about the invitations to the Gaston and Steve show, I was hoping I could stay arms length away from that. Perhaps you could oversee it?

I think otherwise. Many times we never realize our self worth. I truly think you should give it a shot! Who knows what could become of it!
