Trophy Rock time
With the weather like it is in Missouri (warm then cold, lots of rain) I am going to put some trophy rocks out this week. Anyone else putting them out this early?

Re: Trophy Rock time
I will be re-supplying my mineral licks next weekend if possible. Over 3 foot of snow in the woods which is no problem, but I need to be able to get to my cabin first.

I don't put mine out until may, that way, they are still good and fresh for the mom's, and bambies.

Re: Trophy Rock time
It's never too late or too early to help the deer with natural mineral licks - yes even just salt blocks.
I got pictures of muleys hitting apple blocks and salt in middle of January with over ft snow on the ground.
especially with this cold heavy snow winter we are experiencing across the Midwest. The mountains around Phoenix are covered with snow from the last storm

We used to set up some at my buddies place in Michigan but unfortunately they are banned now with CWD I think alot of states are banning them even Missouri is now in their CWD areas I see !
Re: Trophy Rock time
I was in a Tractor Supply the other day and they had a 7 lb Redmond Rock which is a re-branded Trophy Rock for $12.99 or the 50 lb mineral salt blocks for $6.99 so I compared the ingredient stickers and they are basically the same stuff. Between 92/96% salt and the rest is trace minerals with very small differences between them. So instead of buying one Rock I bought 2 mineral blocks.

Big 6 mineral salt from Tractor Supply is all I ever use. The deer love it and it is less than $ 8.00 per 50 pounds.

And here I thought this thread would be all about the Monster Trophy Rocks taken down by Skilled Harvesters with their bows!
No "Trophy Rocks" per see, but I do have a Trophy Tree to share

Not only do you shoot the best crossbow. You use the best, in my opinion, chain saw. I love my farm boss- it eats trees like no other.

I've had the same Stihl Farm Boss since round 2000 and I can't wear it out! I use the less anti-kickback chains and it cuts through Locust and Hedge like it was cottonwood. An indispensable tool.PublicLandHunter1 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 26, 2019 11:19 pmNot only do you shoot the best crossbow. You use the best, in my opinion, chain saw. Not enough salt and pepper in town to make that fit to eat!

I LOVE that saw!
Been through a literal mountain of wood, and just keeps on ticking.
Damn good investment!
The arrow simply decided to park itself where I could see it... after passing through this one first:

Actually Dave, the intended target was rather tender & juicy.
