Do REDS make a diff under 340fps?
Whats the real advantage, the cons?
I personally don’t use them but have to wonder the true effects. I’ll even give them a whirl if it seems like a plus.
How much does a set weigh?

Easy to keep the brace height adjusted with them on.
Stops the string after firing.
I like Danny Millers bumpers better!

Re: Do REDS make a diff under 340fps?
I have used them on all the Excaliburs I have I now use the GRZ2 and G340 with them on. I feel it stops the string or cuts down the string vibration . This maybe just me .
Re: Do REDS make a diff under 340fps?
i can feel the weight up front soive taken them off my Matrix crossbows in the past all but my 405.without them noise is louder and shock seams a little more but for hunting id rather have a lighter bow. having the reds does make brace adjustment easier but i just mark the side of the rail with a sharpie. youd have to try to decide what you like.they do work though.

They help settle the bow down faster after the shot. and before when my bows did not have a adf it offers some protection in a dry fire absorbing some energy.
The Danny miller bumpers are lighter and work very well.

Re: Do REDS make a diff under 340fps?
How would it make brace height easier? I have mine marked too with a hacksaw groove on the side and white appliance paint.
I really hate to add much weight to the bow.
Does it do anything beneficial for the string, my last string lasted 4 years and was still in good shape, admittedly I don’t target shoot all the time but it stays cocked for 10 plus hours sometimes with hundreds of kills.
Do they make any compatible out of polyurethane?
Could I fabricate something lighter with wooden dowls dipped in flexseal on the ends?

It's fast and easy to eyeball the string when it's 1/4" from the bumpers.Ferguson Outfitters wrote: ↑Sun Apr 07, 2019 9:05 pmHow would it make brace height easier? I have mine marked too with a hacksaw groove on the side and white appliance paint.

They weigh hardly anything. They do reduce vibrations, or at least the length of them. Doesn't do anything for the animals but does make for a better shooting experience.
I suppose if you plan to keep your bow forever a hacksaw line will work. But you've pretty much just flushed any resale value down the drain.
Wooden dowels would guarantee an eye injury. Please don't do that.

Re: Do REDS make a diff under 340fps?
Ok look, I watched the whole Dr. Stirrup bumper video.
I’d like to try that but have a couple of concerns:
I don’t mind the string touching the bumper and the whole thing makes sense but what if it ain’t at the brace height I want, does the reds shaft move in and out? Or, am I stuck with whatever brace height touches the bumper?
Does the bumper system of any brand reduce speed whatsoever -vs- without?
I was kidding about the wooden stick.
I’m not considering doing this for quieting the bow, I have a piece of bike inner tube between the stirrup and my stirrup is wrapped with inner tube and duct tape. Its not that loud anyway, and I get many recocks taking up to four animals sometimes.
If its easier on the crossbow components, I’m all about it, but not at the expense of even 2 fps velocity.
My brace height line on the side looks no different from the factory line on the rail. I’ve never considered resale on any item in my entire life. I fully retired at forty years old, I’m gonna keep adherence to my financial theory since I don’t know anyone else that retired at that age.
Thanks

The best prices, and lightest weight bumpers are the Danny Miller bumpers. They are a good buy that won't effect any speed

I googled them but found no link?
Re: Do REDS make a diff under 340fps?
I think Wyverns sells them, but Danny Miller makes and sells them. Give him a call.
