New micro 355 cheek piece issue
I have been reading that there is a common issue of the screws stripping the plastic on the cheek piece. Mine unfortunately are stripped and it won’t tighten. I was trying to take my time but it still stripped.
Is it worth gettin another one or are there better aftermarket options?

Contact customer service for a replacement one. I’m running without one because I shoot lefty, and the Apprentice shoots right. I also need to replace mine at some time.

You should contact Excalibur for advice. What I use a piece of foam pipe insolation with two sided tape to attach it. it works great.

Re: New micro 355 cheek piece issue
i dont use one so dont know how they fasten on but would a strip of velcro or double sided tape in between stock and cheek piece serve the purpose to hold it in place if holes are stripped

Re: New micro 355 cheek piece issue
I contacted Dawn when I stripped mine out on the bulldog 380. She stated they would take care of it. I just decided to buy a larger fastener and glue it in. I have not had any problems with it since.

Re: New micro 355 cheek piece issue
I usually add a couple dabs of clear silicone to the under side of the cheek piece so when it's installed there is no movement of creaking in the cold weather.
This also means I don't have to reef the screws in tight.

Mixter,
The first repair option if you wanted to fix the stripped out plastic on the cheekpiece are threaded inserts. You drill out the holes larger to fit the brass inserts and press them into the cheekpiece. Then you will need to get replacement screws. I did this modification on one cheekpiece, although I decided to start working up some other options.

I used the 8-32 size ones from McMaster Carr part number 94615A114
Here were a couple of other modifications that I came up with for an adjustable cheekpiece.

Re: New micro 355 cheek piece issue
my Gen 1 micro had clicks and pops to it when i put my cheek on it.tried tightening and lubing the screw. best thing i did was to take it off. it doesnt really do much and isint adjustable anyway. why screw on dead weight. looks nice though.

Re: New micro 355 cheek piece issue
I'm another lefty with a crank... OK that didn't sound too good.
My son in law printed me a new cheek piece with the cut out for crank release lever. Another simple option is to take a Dremel tool and remove a few millimeters of plastic.
For stripped screw problem, you can also use automotive double side trim adhesive tape to attach the cheek piece. Been using it to attach my $0.99 levels on several bows and it holds very well if you let it 'cure' for a day or so in a warm place.
