Excalibur Date of Manufacture by Serial #
Hello I would like to know if there is a way to look up the date of manufacture of mine or any Excalibur Crossbow? I can look up and find the DOM by serial number on most things I have purchased but can not seem to find something on Excalibur Xbox’s.
Thanks in Advance

If it has a serial number/barcode by the riser bolt it's 2018 and newer. Otherwise you'll need to go by model release dates to get a ballpark.

Thank you for the reply. I would think a call to Dawn might help, Excalibur would surely have recorded serial numbers by date.

I did not know that Excalibur had started appling a serial number to their bows.
In the past Excalibur would not put serial numbers on their bows for a few reasons. One reason was that the Canadian government tried to require "ALL" crossbows to be registered along with guns. BillT fought this and won with no requirement for registration required. But without a serial number on a bow, Excalibur was making it much more difficult for the government to implement a registration requirement if they tried too.

That is why they have always covered warranty items in the past. That could start coming to an end with serial numbers now.Stepnoutnb wrote: ↑Tue Jul 09, 2019 1:52 pmHmm I like no serial number no registration! Yes My Bow has a serial number with a Bar code by the bolt. FB33xxx obviously the xxx are numbers, just thought it better not to post them
the model number is #3355CABCDN16. Silly me I was thinking the model number meant 3 355 Cabelas Canada 2016.

Well I’m sure that giving free warranty work on 3-15 year old non-serial number used bows has taken the financial toll on the company! There’s no such thing as “free” anymore! I’d rather see Excalibur use serial numbers rather than going out of business!

A 1% return rate would not be a financial hardship or put Excalibur out of business.. Lol

Straight from Peter.
Our warranty return rate for 32 years has been less than 1%, we had a few issues recently but our return rate is still way below industry standards. The facts are to date we have yet to have a Micro 355, 315 or Bulldog limb failure so I think we are on the right track. We learned how to make our product even better and I'm pretty excited about the future of our product line.
With social media people have become a lot more reactionary and every issue is over-publicized which makes it look like the sky is falling. The facts don't come close to reflecting the hysteria that developed over some models. But, this is the world we live in these days.
Any product from any manufacturer can fail, it's how they look after the problem that counts and I'm pretty proud of our record. For those of you that lost confidence I totally understand and it's your right to purchase whatever product you think is better. All we can promise as a company is to make the best product we possibly can and if we make a mistake, stand behind it and make things right.
Peter
